Lock Haven Acne Treatments

Testimonials

"My neck and chest looked pretty bad, due to repeated sun burns when I was younger. I went to BNG Aesthetics. Dr. and Natalie Gabinskiy did two photodynamic treatments on me and gave me creams to use. Now three months late my neck and chest look really nice. I'm very thankful to both of them."

Dysport

Dysport

Great news the FDA has approved Dysport™ to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines, making it only the second drug to be approved by the agency as a wrinkle treatment. Dysport™ (Reloxin) like Botox Cosmetic® is made from the same active ingredient Clostridium Botulinim toxin type A. Botulinum toxins block impulses from the nerve to the facial muscles, temporarily restricting the muscle action and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and frown lines. After treatment, the overlying skin becomes smooth and unwrinkled, while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

Dysport has been available and widely used in Europe Asia, South America for more than 10 years. It is administered via an injection at the site of wrinkles. It was developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1990s to successfully treat a number of neurological and ophthalmic conditions. It was further developed to treat a wide variety of neuromuscular disorders, for which it is licensed in over 60 countries.

Is Dysport Better Than Botox?

It remains to be seen if Dysport is as safe and effective as Botox® Cosmetic is. Based on current studies many cosmetic physicians who used Dysport report greater longevity when compare to Botox® Cosmetic. Dysport effects may be seen sooner than Botox. However, the difference is so little that it does not matter to users. Some studies suggest that Dysport disperses into larger area around its injection site. This study has its own limitation and yet to be proven to make any difference clinically.

Where is Dysport Used?

  • Frown lines
  • Worry lines

What are the side effects of Dysport?

The most common side effects of Dysport are nose and throat irritation, temporary soreness or mild bruising around the injection site. Some people may experience a slight headache that lasts for several hours after treatment. In a very small percentage of cases there can be a complication called "ptosis" or a drooping eyelid, which may last a few days or up to 4 weeks.

Dosage and Pricing

Dosage is individually customized to your facial muscle mass to be most effective. Because dosing units are not similar, comparing dosage units of Botox to those of Dysport is unrelated. The size and use of the muscles that produce frown lines varies among individuals, therefore we will customize treatment to each patient's needs.

Current pricing is $4 per unit.
